Learn How To Pick Out And Apply Eyeshadow

Applying eyeshadow is a technique that will allow you to add color to your eyes, but also allow you to augment their shape and make them stand out. There are a vast variety of eyeshadow available in several different forms and shades, even red eyeshadow, but knowing which types will work best for you can be confusing.

Finding a good combination of three shades is best as you use eyeshadow. You can highlight your brow bone by putting the shade that’s lightest in color on that area. The eyelids can then receive the medium-colored shade, putting the third, darker shade on the crease of the eyelid. Your eyes will experience a great deal of depth which can make them look even more beautiful.

Prior to applying your eyeshadow, it is helpful to apply a small amount of face powder to the eyelid area, using a powder puff, cotton ball or eyeshadow brush. The reason for this, is that the powder will provide a base for your eyeshadow, as well as absorb any excess oil that may be on the surface, and smooth out the surface of the eyelid, making it easier to blend your eyeshadow colors.

Many people prefer to use neutral colors of eyeshadow, colors such as charcoal, smoky gray, browns, and beige colors with darker colors such as green, blue or mauve and then a light color for highlighting the eyes under the brow line. You can use all of the shades and colors above in both simple and light daytime makeup styles as well as more dark and dramatic makeup styles for nighttime outings.

When choosing which form of eyeshadow to purchase, keep in mind that cream eyeshadow in matte shades are often thought to be the easiest types of eyeshadow products to apply. In addition, the powder type of eyeshadow are also popular, and can be applied using either a special eyeshadow brush or applicator. Some of the other types of eyeshadow products that are available include mineral eyeshadow, and those that come in a crayon or with a sponge-tip wand applicator.

It would be best if you could find the colors that will fit your complexion. There are far too many instances in which darker eye colors are worn by lighter skinned women, and vice-versa.

In both cases, these combinations can produce a very artificial look. It is suggested that you choose colors that emphasize your overall complexion, whether you have light skin or dark skin, as these colors will accentuate your true beauty.
