When you have difficulty walking and getting around under your own power, this signals a major loss in your independence. You have to depend on other people for almost everything. And it’s not a good feeling. Now you can reclaim some of that independence with folding mobility scooters.

If you’re used to being independent and taking care of yourself, you probably find it hard to have to depend upon others for help. No doubt, you’d rather do your own shopping and run your own errands, if given the choice.

That’s what is so wonderful about a folding mobility scooter. Sometimes called travel mobility scooters, these scooters are portable.

They are the scooter of choice for vacationers because they take up very little storage space when folded up. They are perfect for sightseeing because of their easy maneuverability. Make sure to bring your own portable ramp along, so you can freely move around almost anywhere.

A mobility scooter is electric powered and is perfect for those who have trouble walking any distance. It usually comes complete with its own charger which can be plugged into a normal wall outlet. With this feature, you can recharge anywhere you can find an outlet.

There are all types of scooters from heavy duty models, to 3 or 4 wheel scooters. Folding mobility scooters are a good option whether you’re at home or out and about.

The best part about a folding scooter is its flexibility. It’s often smaller in size than a unit you may use exclusively in your own home. Most folding scooters are relatively lightweight, making them easy to load up into your van or even the trunk of your car.

In addition, many models can be broken down into individual pieces making them even lighter and easier to handle. Taking them apart and then reassembling is done easily.

Although folding mobility scooters are smaller, manufacturers do make models that can carry up to 300 pounds. That way, if you need to bring along some medical equipment or even a portable ramp, you will be able to.

The cost of a folding mobility scooter is reasonable, with a ballpark range of between $400 and $1000. A lot of this will depend upon any extra features you choose as well as the model. But at least a part of your cost may be covered through your private insurance plan or even Medicare.

Get back your freedom and independence with folding mobility scooters. Once you get yours, you won’t look back.
