Lack of exercise and activity can lead to aging too fast and stop you from living a healthy and long life. When you do’nt exercise regularly you are more likely to feel tired much of the time and also find it difficult to sleep at night.

When you wake up in the morning, you may feel exhausted and fatigued all day until you finally fall asleep exhausted while watching TV at night or even while driving your car which of course can be very serious. As you, age your body changes and you have to make changes to your life style to accomodate this

Enjoying a good night sleep makes the mind work more effectively and helps you make decisions more easily and effectively. A good nights sleep also helps you feel more energetic and this can also help control your body weight. You can also make your decisions with less stress. Sleeping well at night makes our immune system more effective and this help to keep us healthier.

Doctors and Health Researchers have proved that a good nights sleep is essential for your health. They have discovered that when you lack sleep it reduces the growth hormones in your body, this allows changes from muscles to fat. Sleep is most important for a healthy body, but is believed at this time that exercise is even more significant. To give your health a helping hand a simple walk for a few minutes a day can work wonders.

Walking daily will help to stregthen and build your muscles, ease away stress and any depression you may experience in addition it will help eliminate anxiety. By removing these daily rigours of everyday life you will be able to sleep for a longer and deeper and generally feel more invigorated for the trials and tribulations of the day.

If you exercise on a day to day basis and also get a good nights sleep you will assist your body’s metabolism. When you don’t sleep properly, your body spends the day trying to find extra energy. This means your body releases glucose or insulin in to the blood stream which subsequently slows down your metabolism. This can lead to weight gain as the body is unable to control weight as effectively.

When you feel tired or fatigued, the last thing you feel like is doing exercise. This can lead to further health problems associated with inactivity. Sleeping properly balances out your body giving you, more energy leading to more enthusiasm for exercise and other activities expending energy and needing motivation.

What you should be looking to avoid:

Your body needs good quality sleep to function properly so I recommend that you try and cut down on products containing caffeine, tobacco products containing nicotine, the use of toxic chemicals in the home and at work. In addition where possible take prescriptions drugs only where absolutely needed and take care when using over the counter medications. Most of these products contain chemicals which stimulate the body making it harder to get to sleep at night.

You should try and stop drinking any kind of soda’s, juices and hot beverages which contain caffeine after 8pm. Some poeple find that a cup of warm milk helps them sleep. You should also try not to smoke after 8pm and ideally start taking measures to help you quit smoking all together.

Plan a program of a daily walk in the mornings which will help wake you up, and boost your energy. This will make you feel better since the joints will become more flexible improving your overal movement.

In addition, another added benefit walking will help you burn fat and calories a nice added bonus. You’ll soon notice a big change in how you feel the rest of the day. When you first start out begin walking at a slow steady pace don’t over do things. Each day increase your pace a bit and walk further even by a few extra yards stretch yourself but don’t over do it.

If you are new to walking for exercise I recommend that you don’t over do things it is all to easy to cause injury or worse if you push to hard at the start. Walking should leave you energized not collapsed on the sidewalk. Remember build up slowly and slowly and you won’t go far wrong. A added bonus of all this extra walking is your digestion will work better, you’ll enjoy your food more and you’ll also sleep soundly at nights. Oh and I nearly forgot it can help your realtionships as well as you’ll want a great way to use up some of that new found energy won’t you?

So you’ve made the decision to start a program of walking but it can been really boring on your own. Why not ask a girlfriend or boyfriend along as well. You’ll be able to chat about things while you work on keeping your body healthy and staying younger.

After a brisk walk make sure you cool down and relax afterwards for a few minutes.Trainers of athletes refer to this period as the cool down or warm down. When walking at a steady up tempo pace your heart rate will increase and this time will give it chance to get back to normal. Just slow down and relax until you’ve cooled down and your heart beat is back to normal resting rate.

When you find you can’t sleep and your mind won’t relax after a busy day instead of getting up and turning on the TV. Sit in a arm chair and do some gentle stretching exercises maybe listen to some relaxing music or meditate.

If you help your body your body will help you. So many people choose to neglect their body. But by just giving it a little attention it will last you well and with a bit of helping hand see you well in old age.
